The Religious Other in the Biography of the Prophet An analytical study

Abstract

The religious other occupied an important part in the Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah, and its origins and practical foundations appeared in the Prophet’s biography, as it is the practical application of Islamic law in accordance with legal regulations and rules, such as: the Almighty’s saying (there is no compulsion in religion), and his saying, peace be upon him, “The Muslim is from the peace of Muslims.” From his tongue and his hand,” and other texts.

And the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, dealt with his community before the mission as he dealt with the religious other in the era of prophecy.

Before the mission, he was called Al-Sadiq Al-Amin by the Quraish community because of his high morals that captured their minds, and the wife of the mother of the believers, Khadija bint Khuwaylid, testified when she said, “You connect the kinship, carry all, earn the poor, entertain the guest, and help with the challenges of truth.” Morals are general among people regardless of religious affiliation, so participate with them in finding solutions to their problems, such as: arbitration in building the Kaaba and placing the Black Stone, and engaging with them in an alliance of curiosity based on common human principles; such as the prohibition of injustice and others, The aspects of this dealing with the religious other multiplied after the mission and after the emigration to Medina. And his dealings, peace and blessings of God be upon him, were not limited to the other in peace, but also included the conditions of war, so he did not call for fighting the defenseless of them, women, children, and the elderly… Nor did he call for the demolition of homes and the destruction of trees and crops.
