The other religious (West) is essentially social history

Abstract

It goes without saying that a person takes risks on several occasions to speak with his tongue or through his pen about other people’s concerns and desires. Such behavior may be a serious attempt to enter the mind of the others to know what they are thinking and to reveal their intentions and characters: he stands on the boundaries of my religion, my nation, and my clan. That I become eager to know him, may open the door to define him or it creates a psychological gate to communicate with him … accordingly communication is indispensable after all, the struggle « against the other » cannot be forever.
This leads us to realize that the confiscation attitude that a person adopts when dealing with the other and which is to the effect: As long as the other and I are alike in our mental and emotional states and share the same tastes, attitudes, and judgments; we must lift the fog cast by the texts On the other hand, I find myself under the hammer of the Guardians of Creed—hence, I unwillingly look at This other as alien to me, unlike me (in humanity), especially when religious issues arise. then I find myself obliged to dehumanize him, and suppress any desire to sympathize with him. Therefore, it is possible to make any judgments on the other (individual and group.) as being eccentric…freak.

This interaction between human cultures is a divine law, which strongly pushes me towards proposing the matter the “I and the Other” as an issue of exclusion based on the domination of one party at the expense of the other. ALLAH the Mighty said: ﴾And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you﴿  indicates that the value of the human being is measured by the faith inside him, not by his social rank or sectarian affiliation. For God this is the real criterion in evaluating; and people should act likewise.

This invaluable reading /or intent-oriented   is clearly manifested in the field of politics. society, and culture. The strict adherence to human interpretations (hit or miss endeavor), confer upon a person a state of holiness, which hinders development.
In accordance with the fiqh (Islamic law) rule of “Dar Al-Harb (enemy ground) versus Dar Al-Salam” (peace ground), Tahtawi,, the Azhari scholar, embarked on his journey to Paris, and it was not for the sake of describing the other as he is (I mean The historical, social, political, geographical context that produced him.) , It was a reading of the I (the oriental, the religious in  the mirror of the other. ) In other words, the goal was not a current reading of « Paris » in its enlightenment environment which put Religion aside. it was an attempt to read the (retarded) Egypt though Religiously strict, in the mirror of the religiously poor Europe according to the sheikh. In contrast, we find that Al-Jaahed, the brilliant-minded, proposed the issue of Christians in his time, and wondered: Why were Christians more beloved to Muslim laymen?
Such approach in his letters presumes, despite the peaceful life between Muslims and Christians, the exclusion of permanent Hostility with the religious other, for the political and social relations, and common interests’ direct decision-makers to ignore their sacred human interpretations, and bring about rapprochement with the religious other.
