ملخص

Abstract

This paper discusses Speech Acts theory. It focuses on the turn that took place in the philosophy of language debates. Those debates concluded that language is not only a medium of communication; it is also an instrument for making change. It changes the world, and it affects human relations and actions. The paper refers also to the importance of those debates in Speech Act Theory context framed by John Austin and accomplished by John Searle. It concludes with some views and criticism of the theory.
