الصابئة من الديانات القديمة التي يكتنفها الغموض والكتمان في كثير من عقائدها وشعائرها، وهذا ما جعل العلماء يختلفون في شأنها، إضافة إلى أنها قد استمدت بعض العقائد والشرائع من اليهودية والمسيحية والإسلام، وقد ذكرها القرآن الكريم في ثلاثة مواطن، في سورة البقرة، وفي سورة المائدة، وفي سورة الحج، وأصل ديانتهم التوحيد؛ لكن شابها بعض الشوائب، التي عكرت صفو العقيدة، كاعتقاد أن بعض الملائكة يخلقون العالم تنفيذا لأمر الله،أما اعتقادهم في الأنبياء والرسل فناقص، كما أنهم يعتقدون أن اليوم الآخر لا علاقة له بالآخرة، إنما هو يوم موازٍ لأيام الدنيا، وعن عبادتهم فهم يلزمون أنفسهم بثلاث صلوات في اليوم يسبقها وضوء، كما يتعبدون بالصوم، لكن بفلسفة مختلفة، ومن أصول طقوسهم التعميد بالماء، الذي يدخل في جل شعائرهم.

Abstract
Sabeanism is one of the ancient religions that are shrouded in mystery and concealment in many of their beliefs and rituals. This, in fact, what makes scholars differ about its definition. In addition, followers of Sabeanism have derived some beliefs and laws from Judaism, Christianity and Islam.the Holy Qur’an mentions Sabeans in three places, in Surat Al-Baqarah and in Surat Al-Ma’idah. And in Surat Al-Hajj, the origin of their religion is monotheism. But it was marred by some impurities, which disturbed the serenity of belief, such as the belief that some angels create the world in implementation of the command of God.Moreover,Ttheir belief in the prophets and messengers is defective, and they also believe that the Last Day has nothing to do with afterlife but is parallel to the days of this world. As for their worship, they obligate themselves with three prayers a day preceded by ablution. They also fast but with a different reasoning. Baptism with water is considered one of the foundations of their rituals and it is used frequently in most of their acts of worship.
